Blues Foundation & Food Etc Inspire Young People Through Cookery
Bedford Blues Foundation is thrilled to celebrate a fantastic partnership with Food Etc. and Ashe, who recently delivered an inspiring cookery workshop for 10 students from Sandy Secondary School as part of the Tackle LIFE programme.
The workshop, designed to teach essential cooking skills, nutrition awareness, and teamwork, provided the students with an engaging and hands-on experience. Food Etc’s expert chefs guided the young participants through the preparation of nutritious and delicious meals, encouraging creativity and confidence in the kitchen.
These workshops were kindly sponsored by Ashe, a local construction company currently responsible for building the new facilities at Sandy Secondary School, including a new food technology classroom.
Tackle LIFE, a key initiative of Bedford Blues Foundation, focuses on supporting young people by developing life skills, resilience, and well-being. The collaboration with Food Etc perfectly aligns with these goals, as cooking not only equips students with practical skills but also fosters independence, discipline, and a sense of achievement.
Tom Harwood, Head of Foundation said, “We are incredibly grateful to Food Etc for their support. The workshop was a fantastic opportunity for the students to learn new skills, build confidence, and understand the importance of healthy eating. It was amazing to see them so engaged and proud of what they created.”
This partnership showcases the positive impact of community collaboration, and Bedford Blues Foundation looks forward to working with Food Etc again to continue inspiring and educating young people through the power of food.
