Mulberry Homes first to join Sponsor a Student Campaign

Blues Foundation are proud to announce a strong start to the recently launched ‘Sponsor a Student’ campaign with Bedfordshire business, Mulberry Homes immediately showing their support with a generous donation.

The new flagship activation has been launched to help change lives and empower young people to make positive choices. Mainstream education isn’t always the best way forwards for everyone; through our Outreach programmes and rugby’s core values, Blues Foundation aims to address this imbalance and provide an alternative route to learning core skills.

With an evident societal impact, covering the entirety of Bedfordshire, this is the ideal way to make a real difference to someone’s life while watching them prosper and strive back in schooling environments.

Blues Foundation Fundraising Manager, Mike Adamson commented: “We were really pleased when we found out Mulberry Homes were going to be donating to our charity through the sponsor a student activation; it is great to see businesses recognise charities in the local community.

“The donation from Mulberry Homes will help us continue the work we do within the community, and will help sponsor a student to find alternative learning paths through Blues Foundation.”

With developments in Bedfordshire at Ravensden Park and The Grange at Roxton, Mulberry Homes is building a variety of homes in hand-picked locations, suitable for a variety of buyers.

Senior Brand and Marketing Manager at Mulberry Homes, Sophie Leathley added: “We are delighted to have supported Bedford Blues Foundation and help them with their sponsor a student programme.

“At Mulberry Homes, we think it is important to support local charities near to the communities we build, and we hope our donation can ensure that Bedford Blues Foundation can carry on their vital work.”

Sponsoring a student will enable them to gain vital skills and experiences that will transform their future and boost aspirations. Your contribution could provide training and qualifications, facilities to learn and resources to aid personal development.

Many young people supported by Blues Foundation are experiencing challenges which vary from behaviour, mental wellbeing, low confidence and self-esteem. Our interventions use rugby’s core values to help address some of these challenges.

By sponsoring £800, across 12 months, you will enable a student to receive qualifications, learning and workshops that helps build core functional skills that they will benefit from for the rest of their lives.
