Blues Foundation help open new classroom at Grange Academy
Blues Foundation and Bedford Blues were honoured to be invited to help officially open the latest classroom building at The Grange Academy in Kempston last month.
Foundation Manager, Tom Harwood – alongside Bedford Blues Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer and second row forward, Luke Frost joined numerous invited guests to help cut the ribbon and say a few words about the current offering from the charity and how that continues to impact on the local community.
Part of the Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust (BILTT), The Grange Academy is an inclusive school providing specialist education for pupils, aged 5-16, with a diverse range of special educational needs.
There are three specialist provisions associated with BILTT and Blues Foundation are excited to see how they can further inspire and mentor the pupils of The Grange Academy over the coming months with their projects and activation.
The other two members of the trust, Greys Education Centre and St John’s Special School and College, are already service users of Blues Foundation activation.
Numerous pupils from St John’s have joined the charity for ABILITY Blues sessions – more on that by clicking here – while Tackle Life has been delivered at Greys to offer educational support, sometimes in non-mainstream ways to suit all service users. More on that project here.
Headteacher of The Grange Academy, Rachel Timms said: “We would like to say a very big thank you to Blues Foundation and Bedford Blues for supporting us with the official opening of our wonderful new classroom building.
“We look forward to welcoming you back to Grange Academy very soon.”
